Best women's daypack

If you haven’t already guessed by my blog’s name, I use a pink backpack — the Osprey Questa 27 to be exact. This bag is hands down my pick for the best women’s daypack for hiking and travel. This article serves as my Osprey Questa 27 Review.

Best women’s daypack: Osprey Questa 27 Review

A good daypack for female hiking and travel should be versatile, functional and ergonomically friendly. Most brands, including Osprey, make women’s packs specifically with a more narrow frame and back panel. Some of the reasons I think the Questa is the best women’s daypack are its extreme versatility and moderate size (not too big, not too small). Whether I’m lugging my laptop to a remote work space, heading out on a day hike, or packing for travel, the Questa is my go to choice.

This backpack has serious staying power. I’ve been using it for 2 years now on a daily basis and it’s still in next-to-new condition.I’ve thrown it in the washing machine countless times and the colour has not faded the least bit. What’s even better, is that Osprey offers a lifetime warranty on their products. That’s right, I said lifetime.

Using the Questa for Hiking

Backpacking Africa

When it comes to hiking, the Questa might just be the best women’s daypack. From hiking the Canadian rocky mountains, to Namibia’s dramatic sand dunes, to South Africa’s West cape peninsula, I’ve never regretted taking this pack with me.

I love that it’s waterproof (I could get away with not using a backpack cover when it rains), has ventilated mesh straps to keep you cool, and a top loading style with 3 zipped compartments (1 large, 1 med, 1 small). The Questa is also an ergonomic choice, with adjustable chest, hip and shoulder straps to help offload weight from your neck and back.

At 27L, it is a moderate sized hiking daypack (daypacks often range from 20-30L) to easily fit all of your weather-related and safety essentials, while hidden zip pockets can store personal items like cash or keys. The two mesh pouches along the sides are easily accessible for waterbottles or a small item like a snack or sunscreen.

Using the Osprey Questa 27 for Travel

Exploring with the Questa in Ireland

As I mentioned above, I also think the Questa is the best women’s daypack for adventure travel. I’ve been using this bag for travel for the last 2 years and it’s still kicking. From backpacking Africa to jetsetting across Europe, I use the Questa as my carry-on bag and day pack while travelling.

For airplane travel, it’s the perfect size for fitting under the seat and its mere 1.6 lb frame does not eat up precious weight from airline carry-on restrictions. Its padded laptop sleeve safely stows my laptop, and my electronics, valuables and toiletries easily fit among the other pouches.

It’s definitely possible to say bye to luggage fees with this bag. I successfully used it as my sole luggage for a 3-week trip across Ireland, Scotland and Iceland (packing cubes are a girl’s best friend).

Pro’s and Con’s of the Osprey Questa 27

Ultimately, the best women’s dayback will depend on what you plan to use it for, but I personally think it relates to a combination of versatility, durability and comfort. The Osprey Questa 27L is the perfect combination of these factors making it (in my opinion) the best women’s daypack.
